I’ve had oatmeal a lot of different ways, but I don’t think I’ve ever had it as a beverage… until now! I realized that I was getting into a bit of a cycle, so I’ve been trying to expand my breakfast options. If you follow my Instagram stories, you know I typically juice on the weekends. Juicing is great, but I started to miss smoothies.
I love thick, creamy, cold smoothies and I realized I hadn’t made them in a while! This blueberry oatmeal smoothie was everything I hoped for! Simple, delish, and satisfying!
How to Make this Blueberry Oatmeal Smoothie:
To make this blueberry oatmeal smoothie, you just need a few simple ingredients: blueberries, oatmeal, a banana, almond milk, and maple syrup. No fancy directions, all you have to do is toss the ingredients in the blender and combine them.
Then all that’s left to do is enjoy your delicious beverage! I would imagine that this would work well with different fruits like strawberries or even mango, maybe?
Perhaps I’ll give those a try in the future, but for now, I’m swooning over this blueberry version. I may or may not have drank both of the drinks in these photos in one sitting…
Why add oatmeal to your smoothie? For one, oats are generally pretty filling. So if you’re not in the mood to eat it in a traditional form (cooked), then adding it to your smoothie can help curb your appetite.
Are you one of those people who prefer cooler breakfasts when it’s hot out? This blueberry oatmeal smoothie is definitely for you! You’ll still get the benefits of the oatmeal (Iron, Zinc, Fiber…etc), without having to eat a hot meal in 90 degree weather.
Making these smoothies over the weekend was a much needed excuse to whip out my new metal straws I snagged from Amazon. I’ve been wanting to purchase some new reusable straws for a while now and finally pulled the trigger last week.
I like that there were a variety of sizes. They also came with a straw cleaner, so that was an added bonus! I’ve officially joined the cool kids club 🙂
Thirsty yet? I think you’ll love this blueberry oatmeal smoothie! I haven’t tested it out on any, but I think kids would enjoy it too! Give it a try and let me know what you think of it in the comments below!

This was good. I added chia seeds and skipped the maple syrup.
