Ingredients You’ll Need to Make a Pineapple Ginger Beer Mocktail

  • Pineapple Juice – store bought pineapple juice is fine, but if you have fresh that’s even better!
  • Non-Alcoholic Ginger Beer – I love using Goya Ginger Beer because it’s not overly sweet and packed with strong ginger flavor. If you have a favorite brand, feel free to use it!
  • Fresh lime – you’ll use this for a little extra flavor and garnish

How to Make a Pineapple Ginger Beer Mocktail

Making this Pineapple Ginger Beer Mocktail is really easy. You’ll start by first gathering your ingredients, all of which you may already have! If you have fresh pineapple, feel free to use a juicer to juice your pineapple or blend up your fresh pineapple pieces in a blender with a little water as needed to create a juice.

If you’re using store bought pineapple juice, you can skip that step completely and go ahead and get started! Use a cocktail jigger to measure out 3 ounces of pineapple juice and place it into the glass you intend to drink out of (8-10oz. glass), then add in a few ice cubes.

Top off your pineapple juice with about 3-4 ounces of ginger beer, until it’s nearly full. Cut a lime in half, then squeeze a generous amount overtop the drink and garnish with a slice of lime. All that’s left to do is enjoy your freshly made Pineapple Ginger Beer Mocktail!

What is Ginger Beer Good to Mix With?

Ginger beer has always been one of my favorite beverages to enjoy, so when I thought about creating a simple mocktail, I knew I had to use it! I wanted something that was slightly sweet, but reminded me of a cocktail and pineapple juice came to mind. Pineapple juice is perfect for mixing with ginger beer as it pairs very well. Especially with spicy ginger beer like Goya’s.

Can You Substitute Ginger Ale for Ginger Beer?

The ginger beer plays a really strong role in this drink and relies heavily on the spiciness of the ginger beer and its deeper, more complex flavor. Ginger ale however is a carbonated drink and most similar to a soda so the ginger flavor is naturally less intense.

If it’s absolutely necessary, you can substitute the ginger beer with ginger ale, but be aware that it may throw off the intended flavor of this Pineapple Ginger Beer Mocktail. I’d recommend sticking with ginger beer if possible.

Can Kids Drink Ginger Beer?

Because ginger beer is actually non-alcoholic, it’s perfectly fine for children to drink, however the strong ginger flavor may be a bit much for their tastebuds so they may not actually enjoy it.

Does Ginger Beer Taste Like Beer?

As someone who doesn’t enjoy beer (at all), I’m happy to say that ginger beer doesn’t taste anything like beer. In years past it did contain alcohol but in today’s world ginger beer is free from alcohol and can be found in most grocery stores most commonly near the sodas.

I know you’ll love this Pineapple Ginger Beer Mocktail! It’s easy to make, lacks nothing in flavor and is the perfect alcohol-free beverage to enjoy throughout the year! Give this drink a try and let me know how it goes in the comments below!
