This vegan peach cobbler recipe is a southern treat you won’t be able to get enough of! It’s made easily using canned peaches and topped with a simple crust that ties everything together.
Ingredients You’ll Need to Make Vegan Peach Cobbler:
- All- Purpose Flour
- Organic Cane Sugar
- Baking powder
- Baking soda
- Ground cinnamon
- Ground nutmeg (optional)
- Allspice (optional)
- Vegan Butter
- Canned sliced peaches in syrup
How to Make Vegan Peach Cobbler:
Making this Easy Vegan Peach Cobbler recipe is a lot easier than you might think. The first thing you’ll want to do is gather up all of your ingredients. There’s nothing worse than getting halfway through a recipe only to realize that you don’t have everything you need.
Once everything is gathered you’ll want to start by making the vegan peach cobbler crust. To do this, add dry ingredients to a bowl – flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg. Whisk these ingredients together, then add in 1/4 cup of the vegan melted butter.
Use the back of a fork to work the melted butter into the mixture until you’ve reached a crumbly consistency. Grab your baking dish (I used an 8×8) and line the bottom of the dish with about 1/3 of the mixture.
Add in one can of the peaches as is, then drain most of the liquid from the other, then add it to the baking dish. Cover the peaches with the remaining amount of crust, spreading it as evenly as possible. Drizzle the remaining half of the melted vegan butter over top of the crust topping, then place in your preheated oven to bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes or until the center of the vegan peach cobbler is done and no longer jiggly. It should be golden brown in color.
Let the vegan peach cobbler sit for a few minutes to cool before serving alongside your favorite scoop of vegan vanilla ice-cream. Enjoy!
Vegan Peach Cobbler Q&A
How do I store this vegan peach cobbler?
This dish is best served the day it’s made. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
How do I reheat this recipe?
If you’re reheating your vegan peach cobbler leftovers, don’t be surprised when it doesn’t hit quite the same the next day. You can reheat it in the microwave for ~30 seconds or until warmed.
What can I serve with vegan peach cobbler?
You can serve this dish alongside your favorite scoop of vegan vanilla ice cream (or another flavor that might compliment the cobbler)!
Can I use fresh peaches?
Yep! One of the reasons I love making this recipe is because it’s so easy to make year-round using canned peaches. However, if you have some fresh peaches you need to get rid of you can most certainly use them. You’ll need 2½ – 3 cups of fresh sliced peaches to substitute the 2 cans of peaches with.
Can I freeze this dish?
As I mentioned earlier, this dish is best served fresh because the peach cobbler topping is going to soften after being stored. Therefor, I wouldn’t recommend freezing it.
