Easy Vegan Fried Cabbage [+VIDEO]

  • In a large pan over medium heat add 2 tbsp vegan butter and allow to melt.
    4 tbsp vegan butter
  • Once the vegan butter has melted, add the diced onion and garlic. Sauté until cooked through and fragrant.
    ½ white onion, 2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • Add the chopped cabbage to the pan. Cover with a lid until the cabbage has cooked down a bit (about 10 minutes), stirring frequently. Add all seasonings and stir to combine.
    1 medium head of cabbage, 1 tsp liquid smoke, 2 tsp vegan Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp organic cane sugar, 1 tsp poultry seasoning, 1½ tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp salt, black pepper to taste, crushed red pepper flakes to taste
  • Once the cabbage has cooked down, remove the lid and adjust temperature to medium-high setting. Add in the fresh green and red bell peppers along with 2 tbsp additional vegan butter. Continue to cook a few minutes more until the peppers are tender (about 4-5 minutes). Stir frequently.
    ½ red bell pepper, ½ green bell pepper, 4 tbsp vegan butter
  • Once finished remove from heat and serve alongside your favorite dish! Enjoy!

Notes

Need less? This dish can easily be cut in half to feed a smaller crowd. Do this by using 4.5 cups of fresh cabbage and halving the seasonings. All other ingredients can remain as is.
