Crispy Baked Breaded Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 block extra firm tofu drained and cut into 1/4 inch pieces
  • coconut aminos to taste

  • 2 tbsp flax seed meal + 6 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°
  • In a medium sized dish appropriate for dipping rectangular pieces, combine the flaxseed meal and water. Set aside. The mixture will begin to thicken and resemble an egg yolk.
  • In another medium sized dish appropriate for dipping rectangular pieces, combine all of the ingredients for dish 2.
  • Drizzle each piece of tofu with a generous amount of coconut aminos and set aside.
  • One at a time, coat each piece of tofu in the flax meal mixture, then transfer to the breading mixture, then gently pick up and transfer to a baking pan lined with foil. Repeat this process until each piece of tofu is breaded.
  • Spray with oil of your choice on each side. Bake for 30 minutes, carefully flipping halfway through.
  • Once done baking, pair with your favorite sides and enjoy!

Notes

How to Reheat:
Air-Fryer: Cook for 7-8 minutes on 370° (I used a rack).
Oven: Preheat to 400° and cook on each side for about 15-20 minutes.
